Option 1: With built-in Hypex FA502 amplification/DSP (2×500W)
Complete active speakers with amplification and DSP built in.

Three complete system solutions for Coherence 12
Solution A: Minimalist (Coherence 12 + Hypex FA502)
"For minimalists with source volume control"
Pros:
- Lowest cost
- No separate DSP unit
- Simple setup with minimal additional equipment
- 2×500W amplification built into each speaker
- FIR crossover possible (1500 taps per output channel)
Cons:
- Requires a volume control in front (preamplifier or source with volume control)
- Slightly less woofer power than the largest external amplifiers – rarely a limitation with 500W per channel
Best for: Customers who want to use a volume control in front – for example a preamplifier (such as a tube preamp) or a source with volume control.
Solution B: Premium with transparent sound (Coherence 12 + miniDSP Flex + 4-channel amplifier)
"For purists seeking maximum control"
Pros:
- FIR crossover with linear phase
- Functions as both DAC and preamplifier – no separate volume control needed
- Sonically transparent
- Allows more power to the woofer for higher SPL at sub frequencies
Cons:
- Higher cost
- Multiple boxes to manage (DSP + 4-channel amplifier)
- Limited to 4 channels – no opportunity for subwoofer or center channel
- Dirac not possible (FIR consumes full processing power)
Best for: Customers who prioritize sound quality and want FIR precision, without need for expansion.
Solution C: Expandable flagship (Coherence 12 + Colinear Acoustics DSP-8C)

Pros:
- FIR crossover (steeper than miniDSP Flex)
- 8 channels – allows adding a subwoofer, center channel or a multichannel system
